Here is another salad bar that opens on the weekends and at night. Located at Jurong Point, Changi Airport, and Raffles City, Superfood Kitchen is the only place in Singapore that lets you see the macros of your order as you’re picking your items on the touch screen. You can also refer to their website for nutrition information.

Tender and well-cooked sous vide chicken

Interestingly, the sous vide chicken had a bite to it, yet it is still juicy. It seems like they brine their chicken before cooking it and hence why. It is one of the better sous vide chicken breasts I’ve had from a salad bar.

Pickled options are nice!

This time I tried the pickled red cabbage and pickled carrots & pineapple. Both still retained their crunch and was just the right amount of acidity. The broccoli is cooked very well, and other sides like the cucumber are simple yet fresh.

Portion size is average

The portion is slightly on the pricier side for its price at $12.40. The bowl was about 355g. Additionally, the bowl would be priced differently depending on the toppings that you choose. Nonetheless, I have to admit that the food is of decent quality and $12.40 is a price I’m comfortable with for the bowl I chose.

  • 100g Romaine Lettuce
  • 98g Sous Vide Chicken Breast
  • 5g Alfafa Sprouts
  • 22g Cucumber
  • 20g Pickled Red Cabbage
  • 35g Chilli Pickled Pineapple Carrots
  • 55g Burnt Broccoli
  • 20g Salted Edamame
  • 1.5 tsp Chilli Spice Mix

-The Review-

I am pleasantly surprised at how much I actually loved this salad bowl and am so happy to find a good quality salad bar that opens till late on the weekends.

Quality ingredients

The ingredients are of such good quality that their natural tastes are enough, without the need for any seasoning. For instance, this has got to be the sweetest tasting steamed pumpkin that I’ve had from a salad bar. I am definitely ordering the pumpkin again the next time I patronise this store.

Their broccoli looked unassuming because it appeared a little yellow (one hack that salad stores use is to boil broccoli with sugar so it maintains its bright green colour). Nonetheless this also means I can tell that Cafe Coldrea used fresh and not frozen broccoli which is so commendable. Moreover it is actually boiled just right, maintaining its crunch without it tasting raw. I am genuinely amazed at how well-made this simple dish was.

The Sous Vide Chicken is also cooked perfectly, maintaining its juiciness and natural sweet tastes. I again love that they didn’t have to overly season any of their ingredients because it is of such good quality.

The only ingredients that seem to come out of a can are the button mushrooms and the Tuna. Then again, these are typically canned ingredients and for how much preparation their other toppings seem to require I could easily let them off the hook for this one.

All that for just $9.90

The bowl is very well balanced, I had enough sides to taste a different texture with every bite of my greens. If anything I’d say they can consider giving less sauce because it is too much for one bowl (but they do have separate packaging for that should you require it and I kept my leftover sauce for the next meal). The bowl was about 450g including the sauce.

  • 50g Romaine Lettuce
  • 60g Mixed Greens
  • 70g Sous Vide Chicken Breast
  • 60g Broccoli
  • 16g Shredded Beetroot
  • 78g Pumpkin
  • 45g Button Mushroom
  • 70g Hot & Spicy Dressing

-The Review-

If you’re looking for a salad bar in town on a weekend, this is the perfect place to visit!

Simple and nice old school salad bar

Their cooked vegetables are mostly roasted, while their raw vegetables are cubed. Although simple, their dishes are cooked very well. The pumpkin was perfectly cooked, retaining a slight bite while being soft. The mushrooms are just how I like them—not overly seasoned and without the spicy aftertaste that Shiitake mushrooms often have.

The Five-Spiced Chicken is very fragrant

Instead of sticking with my usual chicken breast, I decided to give their Vietnamese Five-Spiced Chicken a try because it was the most unique item on their menu, and I’m glad I did. It wasn’t too oily because the chicken they used was very lean; even the skin was thin. I also really enjoyed the taste of star anise, cloves, and cinnamon—these are not flavors you typically find at a salad bar.

Serving size is quite decent for their price.

Everything is well-portioned. Here’s how much everything weighed: it was about 345g of food, but I requested no dressing. Adding dressing will make your bowl approximately 370g.

  • 60g Romaine Lettuce
  • 110g Baked Vietnamese Five-Spiced Chicken
  • 55g Roasted Brocolli
  • 40g Japanese Cucumber
  • 40g Roasted Mushrooms
  • 40g Roasted Pumpkin
